CMI (Marshall) Les Paul in Cherry Sunburst.

CMI (Cleartone Musical Instruments) was an offshoot of Marshall Amplification and imported a range of guitars from Japan in the 1970s.

This example is a substantial Les Paul copy. It has a bolt on neck with "Made in Japan" stamped on the lower park of the neckplate. There are some surface marks and one more noticeble ding above the bridge (see photos). The back has a number of surface marks (probably from belt buckles).

The guitar has been cleaned and restrung in our Sheffield Store and looks and plays well.
